Drug peddler arrested with heroin

JAMMU, June 13: Gadigarh police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested a drug peddler along with heroin.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gadigarh police post laid a naka and signaled a scooter bearing registration number JK02R-9708 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the scooterist accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops nabbed him after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 5 grams heroin from the possession of the scooterist and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Pankaj Sharma, son of Yadhav Lal, a resident of Mokhey, tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 125/17 under Section 8/21/29 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the drug peddler at police station Satwari and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Gadigarh police post SI Jaswinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
