SRINAGAR, Jan 24: Police arrested a drug peddler with contraband substance in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
A police spokesman said a police party from Police Post Sangam stopped a truck bearing registration no PB32KT/4798 at Marhama crossing NHW. During checking one bag containing Fukki contraband weighing about 22 kilograms was recovered from the truck.
“During initial questioning the said driver of the truck disclosed his name as Mohammad Saleem son of Abdul Satar, a resident of Malar Kotla District Sangrur Punjab,” he said.
A case with FIR No 17/2018 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bijbehara in this regard. The said driver was arrested, vehicle seized and investigation was taken up.
