DODA, Feb 5: Gandoh Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered 322 grams cannabis and Rs 96,960 cash, which is presumed to be earned by selling the contraband.
As per police sources, on specific information about sale of narcotics among the youth, a team from Police Station Gandoh laid a naka near Changa and intercepted a man, who was trying to hide himself from the cops.
On seeing cops approaching towards him, he tried to escape but was overpowered and nabbed.
During checking, police team recovered 322 grams cannabis and Rs 96,960 from the possession of the man and arrested him. The cash recovered is presumed to be earned by selling the contraband.
The arrested person was identified as Dimple Singh, son of Tota Ram of Bhatmas Tehsil Gandoh District Doda.
A case under FIR Number 6/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led by SHO Gandoh Inspector Vikram Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh Shahzada Kabir Mattoo and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom.
