Drug peddler arrested with contraband substance

Srinagar, July 26: Police in Anantnag today said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances.
Police Station Bijbehara received information through reliable sources that two persons namely Ishfaq Ahmad Parray (Shop owner) son of Mohd Ramzan Parray and Manzoor Ahmad Parray son of Abdul Rahman Parry both residents of Krandigham Bijbehara have indulged in drug peddling and have hoarded contrabands substances for sale in a Shop at Guree Bijbehara.
Accordingly, a Police party headed by SHO Bijbehara along with the Executive Magistrate raided the specific location. During the search, 1.3kgs of Charas were recovered from the said shop and one person was arrested on the spot.
He has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Parray son of Abdul Rahman Parray resident of Krandigham Bijbehara working as a Lab Assistant in Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Bijbehara.
He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. However, the main accused persons managed to escape from the spot. Efforts are on to effect their arrest.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 216/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bijbehara and an investigation has been taken up.
