JAMMU, Dec 6: Channi Himmat Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 16 grams heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 16 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Ranjeet Choudhary, son of Jasvir Singh, a resident of Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 194/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and intensive questioning of the accused is going on to uproot the origin of drugs supply chain and to curb the menace of drug supply in District Jammu.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO City East Sajad Sarwar.
