SAMBA, Oct 30: Police arrested a drug peddler along with 5.5 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police spokesman, a team from Police Station Samba during checking near Nud intercepted a Nissan car bearing registration number PB07AD-4880 which was coming from Kashmir and moving towards Punjab via Udhampur-Mansar road.
During checking, a total of 5.5 kilograms of poppy straw packed in 8 polythene bags were recovered and one person was arrested on the spot, who was identified as Jaga Singh, son of Balwinder Singh of Amritsar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 310/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
