Srinagar, Nov 16: Police today said a drug peddler of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and sent to Udhampur Jail on Monday.
A police spokesman identified the drug peddler as Hashim Majeed Bhat of Mohalla Mir Sahib in Old Town Baramulla. “The subject is a notorious cannabis (Charas) supplier and involved in many cases of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA),” he said.
“He is involved in case FIR number 10/2015 of Police Station Baramulla under section 8/20 NDPS and accused in kidnapping case under FIR number 21/2013 of Police Station Baramulla under Section 363, 109 RPC. He is also involved in various stone pelting cases,” the spokesman said.
It is pertinent to mention that last week a drug peddler namely Fayaz Ahmad Dar alias Adha-Duz, a resident of Ganaie Hamam in Old Town Baramulla, was booked by police in Public Safety Act under the provisions of NDPSA, the spokesman added.
