SRINAGAR, Feb 14: Police in Budgam today said to have arrested a hardcore drug peddler from whose possession around 310 kgs of fukki powder was recovered.
A police spokesperson said that the Police Station Chadoora received a specific input about drug peddling in a residential house of Abdul Quyoom son of Satar Bhat resident of Qazipora Chadoora.
“Acting on this information, a police party from PS Chadoora raided the house and during the search of the residential house, officers were able to recover 310Kgs of fukki powder,” police said.
It said that during the investigation, the accused person identified as Abdul Quyoom involved in the commission of crime has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 05/2021 under relevant sections of law stand registered in Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been initiated.
Police said that the community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. “Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law,” it said.
