Drug peddler held with Ganja

JAMMU, June 19: Police claimed today that they have arrested a drug peddler from Kunjwani Area here and recovered 12 kilograms of Ganja from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that Firoz Khan of Tanda, District Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh was roaming suspiciously with a black coloured bag at Kunjwani Chowk Area.
He was put to frisking by a team of Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Ajay Singh Chib under the guidance of SP South Shaheen Wahid and SDPO South Sachit Sharma and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
“During search of the suspect, 12 kilograms of Ganja was recovered,” said the police spokesperson, adding that a case FIR number 75/2023 under sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act stands registered against the accused and further investigation taken up.
