DODA, June 2: DSC Cricket Club Doda and Ghaziabad Cricket Club scripted emphatic victories to move into the next round of the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014 being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The Tournament is being organized by the Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
In the first match of the day, DSC Cricket Club Doda outplayed Young Star Cricket Club Ghat by 2 wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Young Star Cricket Club Ghat scored 111 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Jatin scored 26 runs, while Amandeep made 25 runs. For DSC Cricket Club Doda , Afraz and Farooq took 4 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, DSC Cricket Club Doda chased the target in 17.5 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Farooq made 34 runs, while Raja Khan contributed 15 runs to the total. For Young Star Cricket Club Ghat Amandeep and Riyaz took 3 and 1 wicket respectively. Afraz was DSC Cricket Club Doda was declared as man of the match for his superb bowling performance.
In another match played today, Ghaziabad Cricket Club defeated Combine Cricket Club Ramban in an exciting contest by 9 runs. Batting first, Ghaziabad Cricket Club made 161 runs by losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Gourav Dalal scored 55 runs while Shiva added 35 runs. For Combine Cricket Club Ramban, Aamir and Manzoor took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Combine Cricket Club Ramban made 156 runs in 20 overs, thus losing the match by 8 wickets. Saddam was the top scorer with 28 runs, while Bilal contributed 24 runs. For Gaziabad Cricket Club, Ajay and Parvesh took 2 wickets each. Gourav Dalal of Ghaziabad Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his splendid batting performance.
The man of the match award was presented by the chief guest Syed Riaz, Diretor City Channel.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as umpires while Rinku Bhadouriya acted as scorer.
