DODA, June 1: DSC Doda and Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah defeated their rivals to advance in the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014 being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
In the first match of the day, DSC Cricket Club Doda outplayed Gold Star Cricket Club Doda by 59 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, DSC Cricket Club Doda made 126 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Nazeem scored 44 runs, while Muazim made 30 runs. For Gold Star Cricket Club Doda , Dheeraj and Susheel shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Gold Star Cricket Club Doda bundled out for a paltry total of 67 runs to lose the match by 59 runs. Gold Star Cricket Club Doda, Dinesh made 23 runs while Farooq contributed 10 runs to the total. For DSC Cricket Club Doda, Imtiyaz and Nazeem took 4 and 1 wicket respectively.
Imtiyaz was declared as man of the match for his superb bowling performance.
In another match played on Sunday, Masood Cricket Club Defeated Royal Cricket Club Haryana. Batting first, Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah made 101 runs by losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Shafqat Baba scored 55 runs, while Khalid added 15 runs. Royal Cricket Club Haryana , Vikash and Vijay took 4 and 3 wickets respectively.
In reply, Royal Cricket Club Haryana made 91 runs in 20 overs. Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah won the match by 10 runs. For Royal Cricket Club Haryana, Vikash was the top scorer with 20 runs followed by Ramesh who chipped in with 16 runs. Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah , Shafqat and Rashid took 2 wicket each . Shafqat Baba of Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah was declared as man of the match for All-rounder performance.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as umpires, while Rinku Bhadouriya acted as scorer
