Durga Nagar Committee demands execution of allotted works

JAMMU, Mar 24: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee in a meeting today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina, its president discussed various problems of the people of the area.
The meeting made an appeal to Governor and Advisor, works to issue directives to Chief Engineer, R&B to start the execution allotted works in the area which included blacktopping of roads for which the funds have already been sanctioned.
The meeting among others was attended by Behari Lal, Bushan Lal, Badri Nath, Nana Ji, A K Bazaz etc. They said that in case the work was not started the funds allotted for the same will get lapse. The meeting also appealed the Advisor concerned regarding laying of drinking water pipes via matador stand in Durga Nagar as the old pipes have damaged and developed holes.
It also demanded matador service from Bantalab to Bus Stand via Rajinder Nagar and Swaran Vihar. It said this being the long pending demand has not been met till date with the result the people of the area suffer a lot.
The delegation led by Roshan Lal Raina also met the Advisor, K Skandan and demanded release of remaining ex-gratia of gutted property of migrants immediately as only Rs one lakh as exgratia was paid for gutted houses while rest amount was kept withheld. It also demanded removal of encroachments from migrants property.
