JAMMU, May 2: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee headed by Roshan Lal Raina called on Director CAPD Jammu and apprised him of the problems of newly issued ration card holders who have been deprived of ration for last six months.
Raina informed the Director that 8600 ration cards were issued in 2011 and due to deficit of ration cards 1400-1500 migrant employees could not get the APL cards at that time.
He said during the year 2012 the ration cards were issued to remaining migrants on the payment of Rs 50 per card but till date these ration card holders were not given the ration on these cards.
The Director, CAPD informed the delegation that the ration will be released in the current month. Earlier the delegation also met Minister CAPD, Secretary CAPD and Relief Commissioner Migrants who took special interest in resolving the issue.
The delegation urged the Relief Commissioner that the ration and relief to relief holders be paid in the first week or every month. It also demanded release of arrears to the relief holders immediately.
