JAMMU, July 16: Former president Wrestling Federation of India, Dushyant Sharma was elected as the President of Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association for the term of four years in the election meeting of the Association held at Amar Singh Club, here today.
VN Prasood, General Secretary Wrestling Federation of India, DD Magotra, President J&K Olympic Association and Prof Ashtosh Sharma, General Secretary J&K Olympic Association were present in the meeting as the observers.
Earlier, in the meeting the previous body of office bearers was dissolved and thereafter, the house nominated Vijay Gupta as the Returning Officer for conducting the election of the Association for the term from 2017 to 2021.
Ajay Vaid and Raju Sharma were elected as General Secretary and Treasurer of the Association respectively.
Meanwhile, the newly elected President of the Association, Dushyant Sharma thanked the members for electing him and also thanked Brij Bushan Saran Singh, Member Parliament and President Wrestling Federation of India for providing Wrestling Mats to J&K.
He said that he will work hard for improving Wrestling in Jammu and Kashmir and appealed the President of Wrestling Federation of India to allot Senior National Wrestling Championship to J&K. Ajay Vaid presented vote of thanks.
