JAMMU, Nov 13: Senior News Editor Times Now Pradeep Dutta while presenting lecture on “Armed Conflict- Gender Persepective,” during orientation course organised by Jammu University today discussed in detail the impact of gun violence on women.
While interacting with Professors from different colleges, Dutta explained how armed conflict  exacerbates gender inequality.
He highlighted the gender specific disadvantages experienced by the women and men left out of conventional interpretations of armed conflict on post conflict reconstruction process.
Expressing concern, Dutta said, women in strife torn Jammu and Kashmir have failed to find niches in the upper echelons of decision making bodies like political, religious and social front.
He gave example of some of the women in Kashmir, who despite all odds had been rebuilding and creating meaning in their lives.
Later, he had interaction with participants and responded to several of their queries.
