LEH, Jan 5: Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchuk along with the representative of Khadoth-Yul –Sum including Sarpanch Digger Tsewang Dolma and Stanzin Zatsal, village representative of Tangyar called on the Chief Engineer (CE) Project HIMANK Brig Arvinder Singh and discussed issues related to Warila-Pass.
Angchuk requested the Chief Engineer for the opening of Warila-Pass throughout the year keeping in mind the strategic importance of this road for Nubra sector and to provide an alternative road for Nubra valley connecting Leh. The delegation also requested the Chief Engineer for realignment of Warila road so that locals as well as the army could use this road throughout the year safely.
Brig Arvinder Singh assured the delegation that they will try their best to keep the Warila road open throughout the year and he also promised to commence the construction work at Rongjuk bridge, including 5 Km long interlocking tile work at Warila pass, in the coming working season.
