JAMMU, Sept 20: Bhupendra Vikas, Deputy Commandant in 67th Battalion BSF Samba a resident of Basohli, got the President’s Police Medal, due to his commendable contribution to the Border Security Force (BSF). The family members, relatives and people of Basholi and Kathua expressed their happiness for decorating the Bhupendra Vikas with prestigious medal.
Border Security Force organized a medal decoration ceremony to award Police Medal for meritorious service at Tagore Theater, Chandigarh Sector-18 yesterday. The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit was present as the chief guest in this programme.
In the programme, 76 serving and retired officers, subordinate officers and other rank officers were awarded Police Medals for meritorious service.
On this occasion, Bhupendra Vikas, son of Shakuntala Sharma and Ashwani Sharma, resident of Ward No. 6 of Basohli town, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for the meritorious service for more than 33 years in Border Security Force Services.
Bhupendra Vikas currently lives in Ward Number 3 Shivpuri Kathua and is serving as Deputy Commandant in 67th Battalion Samba of Suma Security Force.
In this ceremony, ADG PV Rama Shastri reminded everyone of the glorious past of BSF and tributes paid to the martyrs. Police Medal for Meritorious Service is awarded to those State Police and Central Armed Police Force personnel who have dedicated more than 15 years of meritorious and outstanding service to the nation.
Bhupendra Vikas did his primary education at Netaji High School, Basohli, followed by Basohli Higher Secondary School and after doing civil training in Polytechnic, he was posted as Sub Inspector JE in the Border Security Force in 1986.
