*Play Way School, KV-1 Gandhi Nagar win titles

JAMMU, May 31: Dr Hedgewar T20 Junior Kabaddi School Rolling Trophy-2018 concluded at Kabaddi Field, MA Stadium, here today.
Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta felicitated the winning teams of the rolling trophy which was inaugurated on May 28, 2018.
In Boys category, Poni Chak Play Way School clinched the trophy by beating Bhartiya Vidya Mandir and in girls category KV No1 Gandhi Nagar emerged victorious by trouncing St Francis High School Akhnoor.
Earlier, Raman Suri prominent social activist of J&K was the Chief Guest during the semifinals in the morning session.
Kavinder Gupta, in his address, hailed the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association for promoting and motivating the youth to play Kabaddi. He said the sports including Kabaddi help young people to keep fit, learn discipline and develop team spirit adding that the Centre and State Governments are paying focused attention to promote games in J&K. He said Khelo India scheme has come as a path breaker both in terms of exploring the new talent and developing sports infrastructure.
Later, Deputy Chief Minister gave away trophies to wining and runner up teams and certificate of participation to other teams. He also felicitated a group of national level players of Kabaddi.
Also present were Vice President J&K State Sports Council Ranjeet Kalra, Chief Executive Officer of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association Kuldeep Kumar Gupta and General Secretary of the Association Surinder Mohan.
Earlier, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta presented welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the Association.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were BS Thirti, Vice President of the Association, Karunesh Gupta, Organizing Secretary, Anil Modi, Press Secretary of the Association, Inderjit Sharma President, Jammu District Kabaddi Association, Dinesh Gupta Secretary Jammu Kabaddi Association, Ankush Chib, Associate Secretary of the Association, Anil Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Anuradha and Poonam.
