KATHUA, Nov 28: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh felicitated the winners of 2nd phase of SSB’s ‘Udaan Football Cup’ in an impressive, well attended and colourful function at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Samajik Chetna Abhiyan Sashastra Seema Bal Football Cup-2017 is being organized by 66 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Jammu.
Dr Singh was accompanied by Ajay Kumar, Commandant, Barjeet Singh, Deputy Comman-dant, SP Tondup, Deputy Commandant and Ritesh Kumar, Assistant Commandant.
Before the closing ceremony of the 2nd phase, two matches were played. In the final, Hiranagar Football Club Team-A defeated Delhi Public School Rajbagh by (3-1), while in the match for third place, Army Public School Janglote defeated the Jawahar Navodya School Basoli by (1-0).
The winners and the runners-up teams were given Rs. 1,75,000.
Delhi Public School Rajbagh from Marheen tehsil, Hiranagar Football Club Team-A from Hiranagar tehsil, Pallan Parnala Football Club from Billawar tehsil, Jawahar Navodya School from Basoli tehsil and Army Public School Janglote from Kathua tehsil are going to take part in 2nd phase of “Udaan football Cup-2017”. The winner team of 2nd phase will be awarded with Rs.50,000, while the runners-up team will get a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the 3rd place team will get Rs 20,000.
30 teams with 600 players participated in this event, in which SSB 66 Battalion provided sports items including t-shirts, shoes, socks, and track suits to the participating players.
