JAMMU, May 29: Despite forwarding of the complaint of DySP Shashi Thakur, posted in 4th battalion by the Director General of Police (DGP), Police Department has not taken any action against the alleged land grabbers.
The documents revealed that Mrs Thakur’s complaint had been forward to the IGP Jammu Zone by the DGP after the police officer appeared before the top cop sometime back and apprised him of threats to her life by the land encroachers, who were active in Channi Himmat, Trikuta Nagar Extension and other areas.
Mrs Thakur had complained against the land grabbers to various forums including the Chief Minister’s Grievances Cell and Police Headquarters. The DGP had referred her complaint to the IGP Jammu.
Though her complaints, the DySP had sought action against the land grabbers, who, she said, had been harassing her and threatening her for complaining against them. She had also sought police protection for herself in view of threat to her life.
She had reportedly said in her documents that she started receiving threats from the land grabbers soon after she apprised the top officers of their encroachments as she was also putting up in the same locality i.e. the Trikuta Nagar Extension.
Mrs Thakur has also charged some of the local police officers with conniving with the land grabbers.
She had, through her documents appealed to higher up of police to take stern action against the land grabbers.
