JAMMU, Mar 24: A special ceremony was held today to honour sports journalists and photo-journalists for their significant contribution to promoting sports in Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by various prominent figures, recognized the role these journalists play in highlighting the region’s sports achievements.
Sports journalists play a crucial role in promoting sports and helping Jammu and Kashmir carve a place on the national sports map, contributing significantly to the region’s sports development. This was emphasized by Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General, Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K, during a ceremony organized by the Department to honour sports scribes and photo-journalists at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Tara acknowledged the vital role of sports journalists in the success of the historic 68th National School Games held in Jammu. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Joint Director YSS Ved Prakash, Deputy Director YSS Central Jitender Mishra and Accounts Officer Directorate of YSS Sunil Kumar Sharma.
Several sports journalists and photo-journalists were felicitated for their contributions, including Vikas Abrol, Vishal Bharti, Sanjeev Sharma, Ranjit Thakur, Sanjay Sharma, Pankaj Khajuria, Arun Kumar, Sanjay Puri, Kirti Dhar, Anuja, Kamal Rana, Ashu Kumar, Rakesh Bakshi, Ashok Anand, Aman, Surjeet Singh and Sohan Lal.
