UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) today organised Inter-Zonal District Level (IZDL) AAG Boys Athletics competitions at College Play Ground, here today.
In U/14 category, Rohit Kumar, Neeraj Sharma Sudan Kumar and Sonu Kumar clinched 1st positions in 100, 200, 400 & 600 meters races respectively whereas in U/17 Races category, Rajinder Sharma, Ravinder Singh, Amit Singh and Sahil Kumar succeeded to bag 1st positions in 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters races respectively.
In U/19 category, Shahbaaz Shakeel, Kamal Preet Singh, Aman Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Navjot Singh and Anil Kumar scored 1st positions in 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 5000 meters races respectively.
In Throw U/14 event, Saviter Singh bagged 1st position in Shotput while Dheeraj Singh clinched 1st position in Discus U/17 category and Umesh Sharma succeeded to win Javelin U/19 Throw category.
Professor Suresh Kumar Dogra, Convenor GDC Udhampur was the chief guest. DYSSO Udhampur, Swarn Singh, Prof Romesh Kumar Atri and Physical Director, Shashi Kumar Sharma were also present during the event.
The event started with slogan “Not to use plastic’ during the event. The DYSSO advised the spectators to take part in any sports event to boost their immunity to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
