Poonch, Aug 7: The Inter-school Taekwondo competition for under-14 and under-17 boys and girls, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Zone Poonch, concluded with great enthusiasm at the Poonch Taekwondo Hall. The event saw the participation of around 200 young athletes, showcasing their skills as part of the activity calendar issued by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
The closing ceremony was graced by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma, as the chief guest. Other notable dignitaries included District Youth Services and Sports Officer Poonch, Mool Raj Uttam, Senior Advocate Iftikhar Ahmed Bazmi, and specialists and officials from various departments.
In his address, ADDC Sandesh Kumar Sharma appreciated the participants and praised the DYSS for providing an extraordinary platform for the youth of Poonch. He emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and assured that new indoor facilities would be provided to Taekwondo players in the future. The ceremony also saw the distribution of medals and trophies to the winners by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
The event was conducted under the technical supervision of Rajinder Singh, Taekwondo Coach, along with other PETs and REKs from the DYSS.
