JAMMU, Apr 14: The Youth Fellowship of the St. Paul’s Church, Jammu Diocese of Amritsar CNI organized the Easter Cup Cricket tournament at convention ground, St. Paul’s Church, Residency Road, Jammu. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 churches across Jammu city.
In a thrilling final match, TPM 11 from Faith Home Church, Jammu emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional sportsmanship and skill. The event garnered esteemed guests, including retired IGP (Retd) Johnny Williams, who graced the opening match as the chief guest. Distinguished personalities such as Samson Bhatti, Yesh Salhotra, Asif Gill, and Camras David added prestige to the occasion with their presence.
In the final match, the chief guest was Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President of BJP, who lent his support to encourage the youth. As the society is fighting with the evil like Drugs, Dr Vijay Kumar, in his address, urged the Christian youth to dedicate themselves to both sports and community service. Emphasizing the importance of holistic strength physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, he stressed the role of youth in fortifying families, churches, and society.
Elizer Salthotra and his team of young organizers were commended for their exceptional efforts in arranging the tournament seamlessly. The invaluable contribution of the members of the Pastorate Committee, including Feastus Sotra, Griffin Gill, William Mattoo, and Ravi Sandhu, alongside dedicated church members like Lyseus Sotra, Soudghar Mattoo, Jatin, Aamir, John Paul, Vikas and Anthony Sotra, played a pivotal role in supporting and encouraging the youth throughout the event.
