Edu Secy chairs meeting of State Affiliation Committee for Pvt Schools

JAMMU, Aug 25: Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary to Government, School Education Department, paid a visit to J&K Board of School Education Rehari Colony Jammu and chaired a meeting regarding consideration of grant of extension to the affiliation in favour of private educational institutions of both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Prof Veena Pandita, Chairperson/Secretary, BOSE convener of the State Affiliation Committee, was also present in the meeting. All the members of the committee, including  S  Ravinder Singh, Director School Education Jammu,  J K Sudan, Chief Education Officer, Jammu,  Balbir Singh, CEO  Kathua,   Sarita Anand,  Jt. Secretary (Gen), JKBOSE, JD, Syed Abdul Rouf, Jt Secretary (Gen), JK BOSE, KD and Shadi Lal Tengloo, Ex CEO, were present during the meeting.
During deliberations  of the meeting, various issues pertaining to the affiliations of private schools of Jammu and Kashmir division were discussed alongwith other matters pertaining  to the student community, conducting of examination in a smooth and fair manner and also to declare the results in a time bound manner with utmost accuracy.
After meeting, Secretary School Education interacted with the officers/officials of the BOSE and impressed upon all to maintain discipline and punctuality in their respective sections and ensure their attendance in time and leave their respective office in time. He strictly directed the employees to work with full dedication and take the responsibility of providing quality services to all the stake holders in general and student community in particular.
He also laid stress on overall transparency in conducting the examination and evaluation thereof. He further directed that while hiring supervisory staff from School Education Department, a direct approach to Director School Education be made instead of consulting CEOs.
It was further impressed upon all the participants that all the supervisory staff who indulge in any mal practice should be dealt with stern action. He emphasized that Board should conduct fair exams and take strict action against students who resort to copying in halls.
