KISHTWAR, Aug 30: To review implementation of various schemes under education sector, Secretary School Education Hridesh Kumar Singh along with Director School Education Jammu Pandurang K Pole, DDC Kishtwar Baseer Ahmed Khan, Project Director RMSA and Project Director SSA today chaired a meeting of functionaries of School Education Department here.
Kumar sought the detailed progress of all components under RMSA, SSA and Sakshar Bharat Mission from the concerning officials.
Regarding up gradation of schools under RMSA, the Secretary expressed serious concern over poor performance shown by the Department. He directed the authorities to expedite the pace of work, indentify the land and ensure time bound completion of all the buildings.
The DDC Kishtwar called for joint survey by revenue, education and R&B Departments for better coordination and quality works. The executing agencies were directed to complete the tendering process and start work. For providing drinking water and toilet facilities to all the schools, the officials from rural development and PHE were directed to work on war footing to ensure these basic amenities in all schools.
Regarding Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, the CEO was directed to start enrollment of girls where rented accommodation is available and indentify the land for the buildings at designated places. AD CAPD and CEO were directed to ensure the availability of food grains under mid day meal scheme from the nearest ration shops from the schools.
The Health Department was asked to implement the school health programme in letter and spirit and in coordination with the Education Department.
A District level committee under the chairmanship of DDC with Principal DIET as member secretary was constituted which will further form committees on block and village level for effective implementation of schemes.
Kumar stressed for involvement of common masses in these schemes so that proper monitoring is ensured and the benefits percolate in the remotest areas.
