KATHUA, Nov 13: The 17th Annual awards presentation of Lala Kanhaiya Shah Educational trust was held in the Govt Hr Secondary School Mahanpur, here.
The coveted ‘Uttam Vidyarthi Award’ was received by Parul Verma, son of K C Verma of Budding Flower High School Dewal by standing 1st (96.9% Marks) in Kathua District in matriculation exam of the State Board.
Vivek Sharma S/o Hemraj of Adarsh Vidya Niketan High School and Jyoti Devi D/o Subhash Chander of Middle School Dhamlahr won the Laksh merit and Achhri Devi Scholarships respectively.
Mahima Sharma D/o Pyare Lal of Govt Hr Secondary School Mahanpur bagged Special cash award for being 10+2 topper among local schools of the area. Financial help was extended to deserving students to enable them pursue studies.
Students excelling in extra-curricular activities were given mementos and certificates. Sambhav Kerni was honoured for sports, Vishav Jamwal for Debating, Aman Verma for Socio – environment activities and Rohit Sharma for being all-rounder.
Principal, Susheel Sharma, retired Headmaster S C Kerni and lecturer Pankaj kohli were also honoured for their dedicated life time services.
Earlier, trustee Dr J L Gupta presented welcome address, while vote of thanks was presented by K K Sharma and programme was compeered by Pankaj Kohli.
