Educational institutions celebrate Diwali enthusiastically

JAMMU, Oct 25: Different educational institutions celebrated the festival of Diwali and Dhanteras with fervor and gaiety.
GCW Bhagwati Nagar celebrated Diwali in eco-friendly manner wherein the students participated in Rangoli making, Diya decoration and candle making competitions. College Principal, Prof. Raj Shree Dhar while speaking on the occasion emphasized upon celebrating Diwali in a traditional way by saying no to crackers.
MHAC School, Nagbani celebrated Diwali with great zeal and enthusiasm. The school was beautifully decorated with Rangolis, charts, paper lanterns etc. The students also performed various programmes and the Principal Sween Puri honoured them with medals and trophies.
R.M Public School celebrated Diwali with great zeal and enthusiasm by presenting various cultural activities. Chairman Rameshwar Mengi; Trustee, Rita Mengi; Principal, Ravinder Kour welcomed the chief guest, Arshaad Bibi, Sarpanch Halqa Chowadhi and other guests. Ritual of Raj Tilak of Lord Rama, Mata Sita and Lakshman was also performed on this occasion.
Pushp Vatika celebrated Dhanteras, Diwali, Vishvkarma and Bhaiya Dooj with fervour.
Cambridge International School, Purkhoo Camp celebrated Diwali with enthusiasm and fervour. The students presented a musical dance-drama and enacted few acts of Ramayana followed by Lakshmi Pooja and Aarti.
Shiksha Niketan Jeevan Nagar celebrated Diwali with fervour and the function began with the lightening of ceremonial lamp by Principal, Rameshwar Mengi.
Mount Litera Zee School, Anand Nagar, Bohri and its junior wing Kidzee celebrated Diwali and Bhaiya Dhooj with religious fervor. School Chairman, Parneesh Mahajan; Liaison Officer, Harvinder Singh Sihotra; Principal, Manikarnika Bhasin; Coordinators, Radhika Mahajan and Anuradha Sharma along with the staff were also present on the occasion. A conceptual skit was presented by the students focusing clean, safe and green Diwali.
DPS Kathua celebrated Diwali with great zeal wherein the students organized various activities. Nirmal Mahna, Principal extended Diwali greetings to students and their parents.
Dewan Devi Higher Secondary and Play-way School celebrated Diwali wherein the teachers explained the importance of the festival.
KIDZEE-a pre-school of ‘Zee Learn Ltd’ celebrated Diwali with religious fervour at its Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat branches. The Kids were made aware about how to celebrate clean, safe and green Diwali using Diyas, candles and led lights to save the electricity.
Banyan International School organized various competitions to mark Diwali celebrations. The students participated in inter-class competitions like greeting card making, Diya and candle decoration, Rangoli and other art and craft competitions. School Chairman, Harinder Mahajan and Vice Chairman, Sahil Mahajan lauded the efforts of the students and teachers in making the festival colourful.
Rich Harvest School celebrated Diwali with a difference wherein mothers of Kindergarten children exhibited their artistic skills in Rangoli competition and designing a ‘Book Cover’.
Euro Toddlers–a preschool in UNO Lane Talab Tillo celebrated Diwali with great zeal and enthusiasm. Small children came in scintillating attires and participated in making colourful Rangolies and decorated Diyas with the help of their facilitators. Director Euro Toddlers, Vandana Gupta emphasized on green Diwali.
KCIS celebrated Diwali festival wherein the Pre-Primary Wing wore a festive look. The significance of the day was brought out by stories, role plays and class discussions.
Dogra Degree College organized Rangoli competition on the eve of Diwali wherein nine teams participated. Winners were awarded.
To celebrate Diwali, Dogra College of Education organized Rangoli and Flower making competition.
Meenu, Shilpa, Priti and Heena excelled in Rangoli competition and were awarded while Pooja, Payal, Abhilasha Singh and Aditi did well in Flower making competition and were awarded too.
IECS Polytechnic celebrated Diwali with fervour. To highlight the importance of celebrating pollution free Diwali, an awareness campaign was organized and students were made aware about ill effects of bursting crackers. Principal, Amit Sharma emphasized on the responsibilities and values that the students must possess towards their environment while Ajay Singh Jamwal, Dean Administration extended Diwali greetings to students.
Students of Kartar Public School, Barnoti celebrated Green Diwali without bursting crackers. They took to making of Greeting Cards, Diya Decoration, Poster Making and Rangoli Art. Harpreet Kaur, Secretary-cum-Principal and Nirmaljit Singh, Chairman of KPS extended Diwali greetings to the students.
Diwali was celebrated at Doon International School with fervour and zeal. Students participated in different activities to mark the festival of lights. Principal, Dr. Vikesh Kaur appealed students to celebrate pollution free Diwali.
On the eve of Diwali, Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua felicitated its lower staff for their priceless contribution towards making the institution reach different heights. On behalf of the Management, Harpreet Singh Anand, Chairman Jammu Sanskriti Schools; Rohini Aima, Vice Chairperson and others presented Diwali gifts to the lower staff and extended them Diwali greetings.
Deepawali festivities were organized jointly by the students of Tawi Technical Campus and Cambridge International School Shahpurkandi. Vidhi Singh Jamwal, Chairman; Renu Bangroo, Managing Director; Prof B.R Moza, Special Secretary to Chairman and others apart from staff and students were present on the occasion and shared Diwali greetings.
Members of Innerwheel Club under the aegis of its President Reva Raina visited Mashwara De-addiction Centre Purkhoo and celebrated Diwali & Bhaiya Dooj with inmates of the Centre.
Students of Tiny Tots School joined in pre-Diwali celebrations and made decorated Diyas and candles. They also performed dance and staged skit on Ramleea.
British International School, Sainik Colony Jammu celebrated Diwali festival in a grand function in which Arun Manhas, Director Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan was the chief guest. The students presented a mesmerizing skit based on Ramyana. School Chairperson, Gita Sharma made the students aware about importance of Diwali and the function concluded with vote of thanks by Pallavi.
Galaxy Public School celebrated Diwali by organizing an inter-class Rangoli competition wherein the students displayed their talent. Himanshu Sharma, School Manager extended Diwali greetings to the students and staff.
Sacred Heart Public School, Purkhoo celebrated Diwali wherein the students staged Ram Leela. Principal of the School, Sangeeta advised the students to celebrate pollution free Diwali.
