Educational institutions closed in Jammu, Samba on Sept 30

JAMMU, Sept 26: In order to facilitate the youth voters and their parents to leave for their native places to cast their votes on October 1, the District Magistrates (DMs) in Jammu and Samba Districts have ordered the closure of the educational institutions in the twin districts on September 30, 2024.

“In view of the polling day for General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024 notified for October 1st, 2024, it is hereby ordered that all the Government/private schools and colleges falling in District Jammu shall observe holiday on September 30, 2024 with a view to facilitate the youth voters and parents to cast their votes at their native places,” read an order issued by DM Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya.
A similar order issued by DM Samba, Rajesh Sharma read, “In view of the polling day for General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly 2024 notified for October 1st, 2024, it is hereby ordered that all Government/private schools and colleges falling in District Samba shall observe holiday on September 30, 2024 with a view to facilitate the youth voters and their parents to leave for their native places to cast their vote so that no voter is left behind.”
“Any default on the part of the Head of the Schools/Colleges of District Samba in observance of the scheduled holiday shall warrant action under rules,” the order further read.
