JAMMU, Dec 7: Flag Day was celebrated by Ist J&K Armd. Sqn. NCC Wing of Government Degree College Kathua under the supervision of Dr Nater Singh Principal, GDC Kathua and Dr Arun Dev Singh. Associate NCC Officer GDC Kathua. Principal conveyed the students about the importance of the Flag Day. NCC cadets of Armd Wing launched donation collecting movement among the staff and the students. On the occasion, the staff and the students contributed a lot with national spirit. The total amount collected was Rs 3,820 and the same amount was deposited to the Sainik Welfare Department, Kathua.
BSF School raised fund for the welfare of Indian Armed Forces personnel on the Armed Forces Flag Day. Continuing with its effort, BSF School students contributed whole heartedly for the noble cause. The purpose was to honour the soldiers, airmen and sailors of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Talks in the morning assembly were delivered highlighting the importance of observing Flag Day by the students. Flag was pinned to the Principal Dr S K Shukla by the NCC cadets. Speaking on the occasion, Principal said, everyone should contribute for the welfare of Indian Armed Forces personnel. Children must learn to acknowledge their efforts and sacrifice for the nation, he added.
To imbibe the same spirit of nationalism in the future leaders of our country, The Pathways International School Kathua observed Armed Forces Flag Day by organizing a Peace March. The peace march was conducted by the primary wing of the school and students from class I-VII participated in the march. The students were caring play cards, posters, banners with slogans and pictures of the war heroes. The students presented march past and paid floral tribute to the soldiers who attainted martyrdom in the recent terrorist attack at Nagrota. The students and teachers lit candles and prayed for theses soldiers and all others who sacrificed their lives for nation. Kunal Anand, Principal, The Pathways International School, Divij Suri, Chairman, Komal Singh CCA Coordinator and Rishu Sharma Headmistress were also present on the occasion.
