EE Deptt lifts 3rd Fazil Abbas Volleyball Tournament

JAMMU, Apr 17: Riding on star performance by spiker Naseer, Electrical Engineering Department defeated Automobile Engineer Department by two sets to one (2-1) in the summit clash to lift the 3rd Fazil Abbas Volleyball Rolling Trophy title at Govt Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, here.
The tournament, in which 96 student players from eight departments of the institution participated began on April 10, 2018.
Though, Kuljeet of Automobile Engineering Department tried his level best to score points, yet Naseer and Abhishek wreaked havoc with their spikes and smashes. The final score read (25-21, 21-25,25-17) in favour of EE Department.
The tournament was played in the memory of late Fazil Abbas, 4th Semester Architecture who passed away on May 4, 2015.
On the valedictory function, Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the Institute was the chief guest.
While speaking on the occasion, Er Bangotra laid stress on the importance of sports activities and encouraged the students to participate in sports activities which develop the quality of leadership, sense of responsibility and create the feeling of oneness by working together.
Later on trophies medals and prizes were distributed among the winners, runner-up teams, officials and volunteers by the chief.  The Tournament was organised under the overall supervision of Rakesh Kakkar, Physical Education Master of Sports Department who presented the vote of thanks.

Sukhdeep Singh HoD (Civil), Er Rajesh Gupta, HoD (Automobile), Amit Sharma HoD (Travel and Tourism), Ar Ritika Wadera, HoD (Architecture), Er Sanjay Gupta HoD (Electrical),  Toshi Devi, PET, Er Mehmood Ahmed, Er PK Angral,  Er Devika Bhardwaj, Er Itika Sharma, Er Navdeep Sharma and Er Vicky Verma.
