REASI, Aug 8: An elderly woman was knocked to death by a speeding truck near Siarh Baba in Talwara, under the jurisdiction of Reasi Police Station.
The deceased, identified as Bakka Devi (75), wife of Late Munshi Ram of Ladda, Thakrakote, presently putting up at Talwara, was walking on the roadside when truck JK20A-7737 hit her. She was rushed to District Hospital Reasi where doctors declared her as brought dead.
Even as the truck driver managed to flee along with the vehicle, he was intercepted and arrested by Police near Zero Morh. A case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi.
