JAMMU, Nov 29: Special Electoral Awareness and Registration drive was organized at Government Degree College Marh here today under the guidance of College Principal Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul.
All the Block Level Officers (BLOs) of Marh block along with Election Cell officials interacted with the students. The team consisted of Rakesh Kumar, Trainer Election Cell Marh; Bodh Raj, Supervisor Election cell; BLOs Ravi Kumar, Subhash Chander, Kehar Singh, Subhash Sharma, Suram Chand, Ashwani Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Durga Dass, Sunita Kumari, Vivek Sharma, Tarsem Lal, Mohinder Paul and Deepak Sharma. The team conducted on the spot registration of new voters, mostly college students. Abhay Singh Jamwal, student of semester-I along with Varun Semester-III and Lakhbir Semester-V actively coordinated in the program.
Dr Balwinder Saini highlighted the importance of enrolment of young voters in a democracy and informed the students about the documents required for registration as a voter. Prof. Sachin Kumar presented formal vote , while the Programme was conducted and coordinated by Dr Balwinder Saini (HOD Chemistry, Incharge SVEEP), Sachin Kumar (HOD Political Science NSS PO )and Ravi Kumar HOD Physical Education Department.
