JAMMU, June 15: Provincial Electric Employees Union, Hiranagar today held a protest demonstration in Power House Hiranagar against the indifferent attitude of the PDD authorities towards the demands and grievances of the employees.
A large number of workers assembled at Power House Hiranagar and raised slogans against the Government and the concerned authorities. They demanded requisite staff in the newly inaugurated receiving stations to reduce the burden of one or two need based workers running the stations, permanent solution of drinking water in all Receiving Stations, rotational duty of JEs during night hours in Sub Division Headquarters for receiving communications for all Power Stations, provision of street lights in all Receiving Stations and repairing of already installed, but distorted stations, etc.
Meanwhile, in the Union Office Complex, Hardarshan Singh called a meeting to discuss the burning demands of the employees.
Addressing the meeting, Singh said as the work in the Power House is risky, the Authorities should provide safety tools like gloves, rain coat, fire extinguisher, etc to prevent any mishappening.
Maintaining that condition of Receiving Stations, employees residential quarters and bathrooms are in shambles, he demanded the renovation and repair of the same.
He also asked for providing telephone facility and necessary furniture to Sub- Divisional Offices and all Receiving Stations.
He appealed all the employees to remain united under the good leadership of PC Sharma to get their demands redressed.
Those who attended the meeting were KP Singh, Manoj Khajuria, Kamal Singh, Rajeev Kumar, Mohinder Singh, Shashi kapoor and many others.
