JAMMU, Oct 14: Elite Tigers and Vriddhy Royals won their respective matches in the 5th Col RN Chopra Challenge Cup 2018 Under-16 Cricket Tournament at Academy ground, here today.
Ealier, Elite Tigers defeated Tawi Cricket Club by a huge margin of 189 runs.
Batting first, Elite Tigers scored 279 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 30 overs. Saqib top scored with 69 runs, while Kinshuk Mahajan contributed 50 runs to the total. For Junior Task CC, Madhav Sharma took 3 wickets and Hanjala claimed two.
In reply, Junior Tawi CC bundled out for 90 runs in 29.5 overs.
For Junior Tawi CC, Hanjala scored 45 runs and for Elite Tigers Anmol Raina took 3 wickets. Sachin and Harjit claimed 2 wickets each.
In another match,Vriddhi Royals defeated Rising Stars by a huge margin of 184 runs. Winning the toss and elected to bat, Vriddhy Royals scored 286 for 9 wickets in 30 overs.
For Vriddhi Royals, Shivam scored magnificent double century (200) runs, while Aarav Kapoor and Aditya Abrol contributed 24 and 11 runs resepctively. For Rising Stars, Mannar Bedi took 3 wickets, while Manitvya and Vismadh took 2 wickets each.
In Reply, Rising Stars bundled out for 102 runs. Saksham scored 26 runs, while Ashutosh Shan and Sarvan Gupta contributed 18 and 11 runs respectively.
For Vriddhi Royals, Tegvansh, Shivam and Aditya Abrol took 2 wickets each, while Shavac and Vasu took 1 each. Shivam was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant batting.
The tournament is being organised by Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy under the supervision of Sukomal Ganguly, Chief Coach of the Academy.
The matches were officiated by Akash Manhas and Deepak Singh as umpires and Sujit Kumar as scorer.
