Employees’ welfare Govt’s prime concern: Chib

JAMMU, Nov 25: The Non-Gazetted Employees Association, Government Medical College, Jammu on Sunday called on Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib and presented him a memorandum of their demands.
The Association listed their demands in detail seeking an immediate redressal to the same.
Responding to demands of the employees regarding delay in DPCs, Mr. Chib announced that now the DPCs for non- gazetted employees of Government Medical College will be held twice in a year for timely promotion of the eligible staff. “This would also help in encouraging the staff to further improve their efficiency in their respective services”, he maintained. This year’s DPC will be conducted on December 22, he added.
Regarding release of two and half day salary to the non-gazetted employees after implementation of 6th Pay Commission, the Minister assured that the matter will be taken up at an appropriate forum for redressal. Besides, he also assured to look into the matter of free diagnostic services like X-ray and MRI to the staff of GMC.
Interacting with the employees, Chib exhorted upon them to be punctual and dedicated towards their services in view of sanctity of their noble profession. He also asked them to strictly adhere to dress code norms.
Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, M.K. Dwivedi, Officiating Principal, Aniece Chowdhary, Administrator, GMC, Reva Gupta and representatives of the Association were present on the occasion.
