KISTWAR, May 5: PCC vice president  G M Saroori today said that the people friendly approach of  the Congress party has frustrated the leadership of  coalition partners in the State, which was evident from their rhetoric and propaganda campaign against the Congress dispensation.
Addressing public meetings at Dadpeth and Mugal Maidan areas in district Kishtwar, Mr Saroori termed Peoples’ Democratic Party and Bhartiya Janata Party as two sides of same coin, who are bent upon to divide the people on the name of region, religion and caste. The divisive politics by these political parties, he said, is detrimental to the integrity and unity of the State.
Saroori said that Congress tenure in J&K has unleashed a new era of development and prosperity. The measures taken for the State to new heights during Congress tenure had started bearing fruits and people have realized that those habitual of building castles in air were actually hoodwinking them with their false promises and hollow slogans. But the present dispensation has made the State in worst condition as presently the liability pending on account of various components including MGNREGA, contractors, corporations, GP Fund, gratuity and commutation runs into crores and the Government sporadically releases peanuts.
“State continues to reel under the burden of huge structural negative balance in current revenues and the situation has further been aggravated by the unprecedented floods that struck the State in September 2014 resulting in colossal losses to life, landslides, windstorms, private property and public infrastructure in J&K and Chenab Valley as well. The damages have adversely impacted the pace of economic activity in the state also leading to erosion of State Government revenues,”  Saroori said.
He said that empty treasuries have exposed Government’s claims that it has enough financial resources. He said Central Government is also showing “Lollipop” to State as the Government sought  special and additional financial assistance to bail it out of the current financial crises but it’s now more than two months after the formation of  Government that not a single penny  has been released by the Centre.
Tehildar  Mugalmaidan Irshad Ahmed Butt, TSO Tariq Munshi, AEE PMGSY Mushtaq Ahmed, ZEO Fateh Mohd, Treasury Officer Masood Ahmed, Sarpanch Tariq Hussain Wani, Congress  leaders Ghulam Qadir Tappal,  Ghulam Rasool, Altaf Hussain, Shahnawaz  Hussain, Ashfaq Ahmed, Bidya Lal, Seva Ram, Altaf  Malik and  Capt (Retd) Naib Chand  were also present on the occasion.
