JAMMU, Apr 17: EM&RE Division-III defeated PDD XI by 8 wickets in an easy contest, while ED-I got the better of Electric Workshop Division by 6 wickets in the ongoing 2nd PDD Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament at Green Field Ground, here today.
In the first match, put into bat, PDD XI scored 192 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Gourav top scored with 147 runs off 74 balls, studded with 9 fours and 14 sixes, while Sunil contributed 17 runs to the total. For EM & RE Parvesh took 2 wickets, while Karanjeet and Suresh claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, EM&RE chased the target in 15 overs by losing 2 wickets to win the match by 8 wickets. Jitender top scored with 114 runs off 39 balls including 4 fours and 15 sixes. For PDD XI, Tinku and Rajinder claimed one wicket each. Jitender was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, ED-I defeated Electric Workshop Division by 6 wickets in a well fought contest.
Electric Workshop Division scored 187 runs in 20 overs. Arun top scored with 59 runs, while Ashwani and Pardeep contributed 31 runs each. For ED-I, Amit took 3 wickets, while Bunty claimed one.
In reply, ED-I chased the target in 16.2 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Vishal top scored with unbeaten 74 runs, while Harsh contributed 55 runs to the total. Ashwani took 2 wickets. Vishal was adjudged as the best batsman, while Amit Gupta was declared as the best bowler.
The match was officiated by Madan Mohan, Suresh Singh, Ashok Singh, Rajeev Gupta and Akhil Mahajan.
The Tournament is being organized by ED-II under the supervision of Ajaz Kazmi, Mukesh Chib, Raghu Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Bali and Kuljeet Singh.
