JAMMU, Aug 29: Various Sikh bodies in a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Sudarshan Singh Wazir, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Sikh United Front discussed the present situation in Afghanistan and role of Indian Government.
United Front extended gratitude to the Indian Government for its efforts to bring three copies of Guru Granth Sahib from Kabul which were received by Union Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri and RP Singh at New Delhi, keeping the sanctity of Holy Granth Sahib. They also thanked Modi Govt for bringing many Sikh families from Kabul to India.
They further appealed the Indian Government to make efforts to ensure the safety and protection of the Sikh worship places in Afghanistan.
They appreciated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister Jai Shanker and Hardeep Singh Puri Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Natural Gas who made efforts at proper time in evacuation of citizens from war-ravaged Afghanistan.
