Ensuring reliable power supply

Sir,
The recent initiative undertaken by the Union Territory’s Power Development Department (PDD) under the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to review and enhance the power supply scenario in our region is praiseworthy. In a time when electricity is the lifeblood of our daily lives, ensuring a steady and reliable power supply is of utmost importance.
The directive to focus on smart meter saturated feeders is a significant step forward in making our power distribution system more efficient and transparent. This not only reduces losses but also helps in identifying areas that need improvement. Additionally, the installation of smart meters across the UT signifies a forward-thinking approach to modernizing our energy infrastructure.
The emphasis on reducing AT&C losses and addressing power theft through effective enforcement is commendable. It not only leads to cost savings but also ensures that consumers receive quality electricity services.
Moreover, the LT Governor’s vision to tap into renewable energy sources is a sustainable approach to meeting our energy demands. With the increasing peak demand during winter, having additional power capacity is crucial to prevent outages and inconveniences.
The collective efforts of the Power Development Department, along with the cooperation of various stakeholders, are indeed promising in ensuring a reliable power supply. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of these measures on our daily lives and the overall development of the Union Territory.
