KATRA, Feb 10: DST-NIMAT Project sponsored three-day entrepreneurship awareness camp was successfully conducted by Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) here.
Dr. Suparn Kumar Sharma, Chief Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, SMVD University, spoke on the importance of such type entrepreneurship programmes in educational institutes during the opening session.
The camp had sessions on overall theories/models of entrepreneurship; historical background-Indian values vis-a-vis entrepreneurship and the present scenario; support and financial assistance from Government agencies, banks, financial institutions, SFCs, SIDBI and others-securities demanded by FIs/Banks etc.
The visits to two small enterprises also contributed significantly to understand the smooth operational dimensions of an enterprise.
A handout stated that the camp has been well supported by young entrepreneurs like Sujat Mahajan, Mannat Products, Bari Brahamana; Rajnish Sharma, Mayur Group of Hotels; Amit Pandotra Shri Mahadev Beverages and Food, Dhansal.
Apart from faculty members from School of Business including Dr Saurabh, Head of the School, Dr. Deepak Jain, Dr. Shazia Bukhari, Dr Hari Govind Mishra, resource persons from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, JKEDI, Jammu also contributed as resource persons to make the event successful.
The Vice Chancellor of SMVD University, Padam Shri Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha emphasized on the change of mindset of the students for responsible entrepreneurial activities for the development of the nation.
