SRINAGAR, July 30: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) today booked then, the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Shopian and others for making illegal appointments of blue eyed persons in the Municipal Committee in the year 2009 and 2010.
The FIR was registered under Prevention of Corruption Act on outcome of a verification conducted into the allegations that the then President Municipal Committee Shopian, namely Majid Hassan Khan son of Ghulam Hassan Khan of Hergam Shopian and the then Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Shopian, .Mohamed Ashraf Pandith (now expired), son of Abdul Aziz Pandith of Bemina, Srinagar, in utter disregarded to the standing rules and without any competence, issued appointment orders in favour of Abdul Majeed Bhat son of late Sonaullah Bhat of Batwina Lar Gandarbal as Electrician, Umaya Jahangir Khan , daughter of Jahangir Ahmad Khan of Shopian as Death & Birth Assistant, Javed Ahmad Wani son of Ab Gani Wani of Bongam Shopian as Khilafwarzi Helper and Shariq Ahmad Sofi son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi of Shopian as Khilafwarzi Helper.
Accordingly a case FIR number 28/2018 under section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act, Svt; 2006 and Section 120-B RPC was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir against accused persons. The investigation of the case has geared up accordingly.
