Eroded provisions of Article 370 be restored: Tarigami, Hakim

SRINAGAR,  Apr 9: CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami and PDF Chairman Hakim Mohammad Yasin have said that the Article 370 of the Constitution should act as a bridge between the Union and the State and the provisions which have been eroded from time to time should be restored without any delay.
In a joint statement issued here today they said the abrogation of Article 370 as unwarranted and unacceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
They said the BJP’s manifesto is a challenge to the secular democratic fabric and makes amply clear that if it comes to power the secular fabric will definitely be destroyed.
“It is the fact that over the years, Governments at the Centre have eroded and whittled away the scope and content of Article 370. It is our unalterable opinion that,” they said.
They said BJP has always been viewed as sharpening the communal polarization, but it would never succeed in dividing the people on the basis of regional or communal calls.
