JAMMU, Jan 11: Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with BLSKS presented a new progressive nukkad ‘Hum Buddley Yug Buddleyga’ under its Monday Theatre Series at Laxmi Nagar, Sarwal in Jammu.
The nukkad educates youth to realise their duties towards society, State and nation. If our youth will change their attitude, behaviour and approach for betterment of society, the whole nation will change. Our young generation has to create new ways of education, knowledge and capability for those who are deprived of it.
The nukkad starts with ESRM’s famous group song ‘Jago Bandu Jago Bayya’. The story revolves about two school going children, who regularly attend studies and do home work under guidance of their grandfather at their home after school hours.
Both children are intelligent and good in studies and feel that every child of our country should be educated and for that we should change ways and give priority to education. The girl asks her grandfather what are the three necessities of a man. The grandfather replies “Roti, Kapda aur Makaan” means (bread, clothes and shelter).
The girl asks her grandfather why not ‘Roti, Kapda aur Shiksha’. The grandfather argues that shelter is the major source of survival, how it is possible. Girl suggested that we should change this slogan by replacing the word ‘Makaan’ with ‘shiksha’ because there are so many children in the country who are deprived of education.
Convinced with girl’s point, grandfather said that education is not only necessary for income but for changes like discipline, awareness and progress. They decided to start a Study Circle in the evening hours for those children who are deprived of school education.
The nukkad was written and directed by Vijay Malla. Actors who performed in the play were Gopal Verma, Qurat-ul-Ain, Kunal, Nihal, Raju and Vijay Malla.
