ESRM presents ‘Jago Bandhu Jago Bhaiya’

JAMMU, July 4: Ek Sath Rang Mandal in collaboration with BLSKS staged Vijay Malla’s famous nukkad ‘Jago Bandhu Jago Bhaiya’ at Municipal Park, opposite Apsara Theatre, Jammu, in its Monday Theatre series.
“Jago Bandhu Jago Bhaiya” is a social awakening nukkad for common man and our young generation against social evils existing in our society. Drug addiction, child labour and boozing by petty labour are big problems challenging us in the building of good society and great nation.
The nukkad starts with title song “Jago Bandhu Jago Bhaiya, Paar Laga Dey Apnee Nayya”. Domestic disputes between husband and wife over different issues like financial crisis as well as gambling and drinking liquor by men are common phenomena of our society.
The nukkad starts with a domestic quarrel between a husband and his wife. The husband is a habitual drinker and careless towards his family. He has nothing to do for the welfare of his family. His wife is desperate and helpless to make her both ends meet because of her husband’s drinking habit.
She requests her husband every now and then that he should stop his bad habit for the welfare his family as his children are now grown up. But unfortunately husband does not hear her plea and is determined to continue his bad habits. Finally, she is forced to lodge a complaint against her husband with Gram Panchayat.
The Sarpanch with some panches visit her home and convinces her husband to stop boozing which has bad repercussions for his family. The Sarpanch assures him maximum help from Panchayat as and when he needs it. He warns the husband that he should never stop education of his children because education is investment and after some time it will pay you back your investment.
The person realizes his mistakes and promises that he will stop his all bad habits once for all and will look after his family and it’s welfare.
Actors who acted in the play were Anuroop Pathania, Prabal Sharma, Kuldeep Raj, Kanta Sharma, Rahul Dev and Vijay Malla.
