JAMMU, Mar 28: Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with BLSKS staged Vijay Malla’s nukkad ‘Manzil Dour Nahee’ at Juggi-Jhopdi near JDA Quarters Janipur, Jammu.
Your goal is not far away, your target is not out of your reach and your success is not impossible. This was the message of today’s play.
The play revolves around Romesh, a young boy who has completed his education upto class 8th in the middle school of his village. Now, he wishes to continue his studies but unfortunately there is no High school in the village and the nearest High school is 15 km away from his village.
His family condition does not allow him to meet the expenses of daily bus fare. He is desperate and confused. Now, he realizes that it is not only his problem but like him many other children of his village are deprived of their higher education.
In the mean time, his parents advise him to work in the fields or do some petty work to help his family. But Romesh is having positive attitude and high thinking for further studies. Romesh approaches Sarpanch and asks him to take a deputation to the concerned MLA to represent their problem.
Authorities are convinced with plea of villagers and sanction upgradation of middle school to higher secondary school with immediate effect. Extra teaching staff is deputed without delay so that students of this village do not lose their one year of studies.
The villagers give credit to Romesh’s devotion towards education which has brought new chapter in prosperity of village and its students.
Actors who performed in the play were Kanta Sharma, Raju Mad, Gopal Singh, Virender, Anuroop, Qurat, Nazuk Bhagat, Paras Churngo, Akash Abrol, Khushwant Rathore, Parbel Sharma and Vijay Malla.
The nukkad was written and directed by Vijay Malla.
