UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: District Administration Udhampur today organized an Essay and Slogan Writing competition under Information, Education and Communication Plan on the topic ‘Significance of River Devika and Measures for Pollution Abatement of River Devika’ at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, here today. Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar was the chief guest who presided over the function on the occasion.
The programme was attended by Collector Northern Railway, Dr Anirudh Rai, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, Chief Education Officer, Purshotam Dutt Sharma, Chief Executive Officer Municipality, Santosh Kotwal, besides staff members and students of the school.
While speaking on the occasion, ADDC informed that as part of sanitation drive different IEC activities regarding save Devika will be organized by district administration in every week.
In Essay Writing competition, Neha of Common Public Higher Secondary School, Divya of Happy Model Higher Secondary School and Janvi Khajuria of Government Model Higher Secondary School (Girls), Udhampur was adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In Slogan writing competition, Samiksha Sharma, Raghav Sharma and Palak of Common Public High Secondary School Udhampur clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Later, the chief guest distributed participation certificates among the students on the occasion.
