Estates employees hold protest, highlight demands

JAMMU, Oct 25: All the employees of Estates Department held a protest demonstration pertaining to their long pending demands.
The estates employees under the banner of Co-ordination Committee of Estates Employees assembled in front of the office of Deputy Director Estates and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The protestors were demanding re-organization of Estates Department, provision of two and a half day additional pay, regularization of daily wagers, release of wages in favour of need basis workers, release of time bound promotion orders, finalization of seniority list before holding DPC, issuance of appointment orders in favour of kith and kin of the deceased employees, transfer of employees who are sitting in the department since decades, construction of building for housing the office of Deputy Director Estates and release of tools and uniforms in favour of class IV employees.
Addressing the gathering, leaders of Co-ordination Committee of Estates Employees Prem Singh Bawa and Yash Paul Sharma urged the Chief Minister to redress their of the employees at the earliest, failing which the employees will hold two day protest on October 28 and 29.
Among others present were Rash Pal Lal, Tilak Raj, Puran Chand, Rajesh Kumar, Sagar Massi, Subash Chander, Jeet Raj, Satish Kumar, Baljit Singh, Shamboo Singh and Mohinder Lal.
