JAMMU, July 10: Evengical Church and Carmel Assemblies Church registered wins over their rivals in the Inter-Church Cricket Champi-onship at Alexander Memorial School, here today.
In the first match, Evengical Church drubbed Catholic Church Nagrota . Batting first Catholic Church scored 125 runs for all wickets in the allotted 12 overs . Stephan was the main scorer who scored 39 runs and hit 5 sixes in his inning, Justin was the other batsman who scored 28 runs and hit 3 sixes. For Evengical Church, Sonu Bhatti took 3 wkts, Tony and Rahul took one wicket each. Chasing the target of 125 runs, Evengical Church chased in 11.5 overs . Sabestian was the main scorer who scored 41 runs and hit 4 sixes and 2 boundaries whereas Sonu Bhatti was the other batsman who scored 25 and 3 sixes . For Catholic Church Nagrota, Rakesh took 2 wickets, whereas Justin and Naveen took one wicket each.Man of the match was awarded to Sonu Bhatti for his all round performance.
In the second match, Carmel Assemblies Church drubbed Catholic Church-Bakshi Nagar. Batting first Carmel Assemblies Church scored 120 runs for all wikts. in the allotted 12 overs . Rahul was the main scorer who scored 58 runs and hit 7 sixes and Montu was the other batsman who scored 11 runs. For Catholic Church Bakshi Nagar, Aman took 4 wickets and Happy took 3 wickets. In reply, Bakshi Nagar Church team could not Chase the target in the allotted overs and scored 74 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Hanook and Daniel were the main scorers who made 20 and 18 runs for the team. For Carmel Church , Arun took 3 wickets while Rahul and Montu took 2,1 wickets. Man of the match was awarded to Rahul of Carmel Assemblies Church.
The match was officiated by Rakul , Sunny,Sandeep & Amit as umpires, while Sanjay Bhatti acted as scorer.
The tournament is being organized by Christian Sports Org, J&K whereas David Mattoo and Victor Sotra are the organizing secretaries of the tournament and the tournament is organized under the overall supervision of Sh. Rajesh Gill, President of Christian Sports Organization J&K.
