NOWSHERA, May 11: Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the continued cease fire violations and unprovoked Pak shelling on Indian positions and civilian areas in the State.
PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that it is so tragic that Pakistan has repeatedly violating ceasefire and it was so unfortunate that the unwarranted firing in Nowshera sector last night has resulted in the killing of a woman Akhtar Bibi and injuries to her husband at Pukharni in Nowshera sector.
Sharma along with several other leaders of the party Jagdish Sawhney, Isher Singh, Rajinder Singh, Gulshaid Choudhary, Haji Hakam Din and Khalil Ahmed visited village Pukharni and attended the Namaz-e-Zanaza of Akhtar Bibi. He lashed out at Pakistan for repeated ceasefire violations and expressed deep anguish at the killing of innocent persons besides causing great loss to property.
The people have to shift and migrate from their residences and abandon their fields and cattle due to regular feature of cease fire . He demanded all necessary measures for the safety of people and all sorts of provisions for timely medical facilities to meet the unfortunate happening.
Sharma also demanded adequate compensation to the victims of firing and specialized medical treatment to the injured people. He also demanded the Government to immediately fulfill the promise of allotting of plots to the identified population of IB & LoC in order to accommodate them in safer zones so that the innocent lives be saved from Pak firing.
